University’s veterinary technology program named one of the best

Thebestcolleges.org has named Ò×ʤ²©¹Ù꿉۪s veterinary technology program the second best in the country. The ranking is based on the exceptional hands-on learning opportunities with both large and small animals offered to students.

The program is also distinguished by PAWS, a monthly clinic run by students under veterinary supervision that provides income-eligible owners with preventive veterinary services for their pets; an on-campus veterinary diagnostic laboratory that helpsÌýmonitor and control important animal diseases and provides diagnostic services and information to various state agencies; and the ability to deliver the attention and small class size of a private school with all the benefits of a full university.

Students enrolled in the veterinary technology program receive a strong education in animal behavior, safe handling of animals, radiography, anesthesia and surgical assisting, dentistry, animal nursing and laboratory procedures, client communication, euthanasia, grief counseling and medical ethics.
