Ambassador Guoxiang Sun visited the Durham campus on Friday, Nov.14, along with Chinese trade and commerce delegates, as part of the Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø-Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø-Sichuan Economic and Trade Forum.

Sun is consul general at the , which works to promote exchanges and provide consular services in the 10 Northeastern U.S. states, including Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø.

Chinese ambassador Guoxiang Sun and Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø president Mark HuddlestonThe ambassador took part in the trade forum, which, in addition to the Chinese delegation, included representatives from the Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø provost’s office, Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø School of Law, the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics and the Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø Center for International Education, along with officials from the Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø economic development and international commerce offices and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The group discussed educational research and exchange as well as business and economic development opportunities between Ò×ʤ²©¹ÙÍø and China, particularly China’s Sichuan Province, which is home to Ò×ʤ²©¹Ù꿉۪s partner institution, .

Also during his visit, Sun met with President Huddleston and toured campus with Chinese students and students enrolled in the university’s Mandarin classes.
