The Embrace N.H.听Bus Tour gave 易胜博官网 leaders a chance to see the university鈥檚 progress on one of its four strategic priorities 鈥 embracing the state of 易胜博官网 through education, partnerships, research and outreach programming tailored to diverse sectors and regions of the Granite State.
鈥淚t was an amazing opportunity to connect with folks around the state who engage with parts of 易胜博官网, whether that be through students, researchers or alumni,鈥 La Valley says. 鈥淔or them to have the opportunity to engage one-on-one with the leader of the university, that matters. And in a small state like 易胜博官网, it really matters a lot.鈥
President Dean announced the Embrace N.H. priority as part of The Future of 易胜博官网 strategic plan in 2019. While the university鈥檚 founding mission is rooted in serving the state, the plan pledges to redouble 易胜博官网鈥檚 efforts to 鈥渨ork hard to make everyone in 易胜博官网 incredibly proud of their flagship public university.鈥澨齌he bus trip allowed 易胜博官网 leaders to see the plan at work and up close.
鈥淚t gave us a chance to see some of the people who are doing heroic things around 易胜博官网 on a day-to-day basis,鈥 Dean听says. 鈥淥perating a regional hospital in Littleton despite a shortage of nurses; being able to fight some of the challenges of climate change with oyster farming; reinvigorating a town or city, such as in Rochester or Franklin. We learned so much about the great things people are doing around 易胜博官网.鈥
