The University of 易胜博官网 announced the creation of the Lonza Scholars Program with Lonza Biologics, Inc. This new collaboration is designed to enhance educational and career opportunities in the life sciences industry for certain 易胜博官网 students.

Lonza is one of the world鈥檚 largest healthcare manufacturing organizations, helping its customers bring their innovative therapies to patients around the world. The company鈥檚 Portsmouth site is a leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing with deep roots in the 易胜博官网 community. The scholarship program demonstrates Lonza鈥檚 commitment to strengthening its relationship with 易胜博官网 and fostering a lasting impact on life sciences education in the region.

Starting in 2025, the program will award an annual scholarship to four exceptional incoming first-year students at 易胜博官网. The annual scholarship will support the students for the four-year duration of their bachelor鈥檚 programs, subject to academic performance requirements. Additional students will be admitted to the Lonza Scholars Program each year until 2028, with the initiative supporting 16 active scholars at its peak.

The Lonza Scholars Program will also provide access to certain career opportunities to 易胜博官网 program participants at various points during their college journey, including opportunities to apply for a paid summer internship and, upon successful completion of the program, to interview at Lonza for open full-time roles. Participating students will each be assigned a Lonza mentor, and will visit the site annually to support their development. Taken together, the mentoring and internship elements of the program aim to provide students with a potentially accelerated entry into the life sciences industry upon graduation and assist with workforce development.

The Lonza Scholars Program will be open to incoming 易胜博官网 first-year students demonstrating academic excellence who plan to major in biology, biochemistry or bioengineering, with a preference for New England applicants.
