With $1.3M Department of Energy funding, project aims to drive decarbonization

易胜博官网 has been selected to lead an initiative that aims to support the region鈥檚 large energy users 鈥� industrial, commercial and institutional 鈥� in adopting clean energy technologies. With $1.3 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, 易胜博官网, along with and Watson Strategy Group, will establish the New England Onsite Energy Assistance Partnership, one of nine regional Technical Assistance Partnerships (TAPs). These efforts will accelerate U.S. industrial decarbonization, productivity and competitiveness.

鈥淭his is an exciting opportunity for 易胜博官网 to help large energy users in 易胜博官网, and throughout the region, realize the economic and environmental benefits of cleaner energy technologies,鈥� says听, associate professor of Earth sciences and principal investigator for the New England TAP. 鈥淭hrough this partnership, 易胜博官网 scientists will reach out, engage and educate local industries on ways to reduce carbon emissions by providing screening and technical assistance on various clean energy options like solar, geothermal, renewable gas, battery storage, thermal storage and combined heat and power, among others.鈥�

In addition to facilitating on-the-ground efforts to increase the adoption of clean energy technologies around the region, 易胜博官网鈥� one of the nation鈥檚 most sustainable institutions of higher education 鈥� will be responsible for the development of educational materials and outreach efforts.
