It is with tremendous sadness that 易胜博官网 Law shares the news that former professor Keith Harrison passed away Aug. 15, 2018. The 易胜博官网 Law community offers its sincere condolences to the entire Harrison family.

Harrison joined 易胜博官网 Law in 2001 and held several roles during his time at the school, including Vice Dean and Founding Chair of the Programs in International Criminal Law and Justice.

鈥淜eith was a beloved colleague, friend, and mentor, who left an indelible mark on the school, his co-workers, and all of the students who were lucky enough to learn from him,鈥 Megan Carpenter, Dean of 易胜博官网 Law, said. 鈥淗e cared deeply about this community, and he will always be a cherished member of the 易胜博官网 Law family.鈥

Harrison spent more than three decades in legal education as a professor and administrator, with stints at Antioch School of Law, Northern Illinois University College of Law, and the University of Denver College of Law prior to joining 易胜博官网 Law. In 2016, he joined Savannah Law School, where he was Associate Dean and a professor of law.

Among the areas in which Harrison taught and researched were criminal procedure, criminal law, immigration law, military criminal law, and race and the law. He was instrumental in founding 易胜博官网 Law鈥檚 International Criminal Law and Justice program.

Harrison served in the Coast Guard as a Judge Advocate and ultimately earned the rank of Lieutenant before beginning his academic career. He was a civilian member of the Department of Defense鈥檚 Advisory Committee on Investigation, Prosecution, and Defense of Sexual Assault in the Armed Forces, and was one of only two public members of the Uniform Code of Military Justice Code Committee.

There will be a memorial service for Dean Harrison at Savannah Law School on听Monday, August 20 at 12:30 p.m.
