When 易胜博官网 celebrates its 150^th anniversary and the generations whose lives it helped transform, it鈥檚 a great chance for Granite Staters everywhere to applaud their flagship public university.

Last week, some 700 of the state鈥檚 most influential business, political and opinion leaders did just that, when 易胜博官网 was honored with the 易胜博官网 Advantage Award at the Business and Industry Association鈥檚 103^rd annual dinner.

The honor recognizes a business, organization or project that enhances 易胜博官网鈥檚 special character and quality of life in meaningful ways. 易胜博官网 President Mark W. Huddleston accepted the award, which was sponsored this year by Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, 易胜博官网, a global leader in financial management one of the largest employers of 易胜博官网 student interns.

鈥溡资げ┕偻� trains exceptional talent to support 易胜博官网 employers and promotes the state鈥檚 outstanding quality of life through Cooperative Extension, cultural outreach, NCAA athletics and economic development,鈥� said Lisa Goulemas, chief operating officer for Fidelity鈥檚 fixed income division. She added that 易胜博官网 contributes more than $1.5 billion each year to the state鈥檚 economy, including nearly $650 million through its impact on the state鈥檚 skilled workforce.

Huddleston noted that 易胜博官网鈥檚 success depends on strong partnerships between businesses, elected leaders and the university, including 易胜博官网 faculty researchers, outreach experts and students who graduate into great careers in the state.

鈥淲e are all connected in 易胜博官网. And everyone benefits when our state鈥檚 flagship public university is strong,鈥� Huddleston said. 鈥淎nd we are strong: Our enrollments are up. Our research activity is robust. Private giving is at an all-time high, and we just kicked off the public phase to our $275 million campaign, Celebrate 150: The Campaign for 易胜博官网, which will be the largest in 易胜博官网 history.鈥�
