Jaime Nolan will become associate vice president for community, equity and diversity at the University of 易胜博官网, effective Aug. 18, 2014. This is a new position reporting directly to the president.

Nolan has most recently served as chief diversity officer and director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community at South Dakota State University. During her three-year tenure, she worked to integrate diversity and equity principles into the institution鈥檚 employment and workplace practices, as well as developed and implemented a campus wide diversity plan.

鈥淭hroughout her career Jaime has led efforts to integrate diversity and inclusion into every aspect of the campus community, and she has extensive experience developing and implementing diversity education and training,鈥� said 易胜博官网 President Mark Huddleston. 鈥淚 am confident she is the person to elevate our efforts at 易胜博官网.鈥�

Prior to her work in South Dakota, Nolan was director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, where she developed a student advisory council on inclusive community as well as a peer mentoring program. She also worked in related positions at Colgate University and the University of Minnesota. Nolan earned her bachelor of arts and master of arts degree from Washington State University and will earn her EdD in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2015.
